Architect

Role

General Contractor

This 203,000 square foot Supercenter located on a 53 acre site features a masonry exterior and polished concrete floors. The store includes general merchandise, grocery, lawn and garden departments, a drive-thru pharmacy, Vision Center, Tire & Lube Express, a photo lab and (2) three-bay loading docks / receiving areas.

Additionally, the Supercenter includes three retail tenant spaces: a hair salon, bank branch and a restaurant.

The store features the prototypical Wal-Mart program of 250+ skylights to reduce energy consumption and a 28 ton pre-packed hydronic HVAC system with cooling towers that are 15% more efficient than standard systems.
Construction took place in accordance with the site-specific IEPA Storm Water Pollution Protection Plan (SWPPP). Additionally, twin stormwater outfall extensions run 300 feet south of the property.

The project maintained a rigorous schedule and to add further complexity, ICI also completed 3/4 mile of road improvements; expanding Rockton Road to a four-lane undivided highway with medians for turn lanes.
