3030 N. Broadway Development Seeking LEED Certification

In February 2015, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to commemorate the start of a significant new development within the City of Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. Plans for the long-awaited Mariano’s development at 3030 N. Broadway had been approved by the Chicago Plan Commission and construction on the development was to begin. The site of the development was a former Dominick’s that had been vacant since a fire in 2005 was currently serving as a surface parking lot.
The 3030 N Broadway project is a 260,000 square foot new mixed-use, multi-story retail development housing a Mariano’s Fresh Market, XSport Fitness, two levels of decked parking totaling 245 parking spaces and the remaining 7,500 square feet will be occupied by small retail shops on the ground level.
International Contractors, Inc. (ICI) was contracted to build-out the 73,000 square foot Mariano’s Fresh Market, occupying both the first and second levels. This development marks ICI’s third Mariano’s store; having completed a ground up store in Orland Park, Illinois and the build-out of the Ravenswood store.
The development is scheduled to open in summer 2016 and the hope for the development is that it will revitalize the long-vacant site with a pedestrian-friendly “town square” dynamic.
