When Dominick’s announced in early 2014 that it would be withdrawing from the Chicago market, Joe Caputo & Sons took over several of their existing stores, including the 52,000 square foot Dominick’s located on the corner of Dundee and Sanders in Northbrook.

In what marks the second project for the gourmet grocer, ICI was hired to quickly re-image the space to the Caputo’s brand that has become so well-known in the northwest suburbs.

The scope of work included the complete removal and replacement of all lighting and flooring. The refrigerated cases were relocated in order to increase functionality and highlight the grocer’s products.

The walk-in produce, meat and seafood cases were also all replaced. Murals were created along the walls at teh front of the store to reflect a scene from an Italian countryside. Additionally, the entire space was repainted to further reinforce the Caputo brand.
