Through a competitive selection process, ICI was chosen as Grayslake High School District 127’s Construction Manager in the fall of 2012. Working with the District architect, ICI completed an addition and renovation to North High School.
The two-story addition of approximately 11,000 square feet houses an athletic locker room and a weight room. Additionally, ICI performed renovations to spaces within the existing school to create a foods lab and an additional art room. Last, ICI relocated the dance room and expanded the wrestling room.
The District had a $5.5 million budget for the project. Upon developing an initial cost estimate during the preconstruction phase, ICI projected the cost to be closer to $6.2 million. The District architect and ICI then worked together with the administration to bring the project within budget and the project was successfully completed within those parameters.
