Role

Construction Manager

The Lisle Auto Plaza Group started in 1962 Chicago, Illinois as Volvo Sales and Service Inc. Nearly 50 years later, Honda, Volvo and Infiniti franchises have been added to the dealer’s portfolio; all built on the same promise of a service-oriented buying experience.

In early 2018, ICI was hired by parent company Chicagoland Automotive Group to fulfill the role of construction manager on improvements to their Volvo Dealership located in Lisle, Illinois.

ICI’s preconstruction scope of work entailed partnering with the architect, JRB Group Architects, to cost estimate and phase various construction options for ownership to consider. Once the scope of work was defined, ICI also participated in the municipality-required presentations that ultimately resulted in zoning approval.

Phase I of the project consists of tearing off the showroom of the existing Infiniti dealership and performing selective demolition within the remaining two-story building that houses office and the parts department. ICI will then build a new Volvo showroom and service drive where the former Infiniti showroom was located. In addition to the showroom and service drive expansions ICI will renovate the existing parking lot and other exterior improvements.

The new service department addition will become operational upon completion of Phase II. All Volvo cars will be serviced at the former Volvo Dealership for the interim. Additionally, Phase II includes building out the service building, a parts department and offices.

Phase I construction is anticipated to start during the summer of 2018 with a targeted completion date of late 2018.
