The Definition of a Lunch and Learn

The addition and renovation to Elmwood Elementary School is ready and will open after the Holiday break.  The 11,223 square foot project includes four (4) new classrooms and two (2) adjoining flex spaces along with a new kitchen and cafeteria area.

Principal Susan Ponzio-Pappas said, “The new addition is beyond expectations.  The natural light, the colors and the overall atmosphere of the addition are very welcoming and provide a great learning environment for the teachers and students.”

She added, “The collaboration between ICI (the District’s Construction Manager), DLA (District Architect) and the school’s staff was instrumental in having such a successful project.”  Ms. Ponzio-Pappas believes the addition allows other areas of the school to be utilized differently and more effectively and allows the before and after school program (BASEC) to expand having a direct impact on the community.
