Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants selects ICI for build-out of former Del Frisco’s location

Feb 2020

Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group exited its Chicago Gold Coast location on Oak Street as of January 2019. Three months later, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant announced plans to move into the space. ICI has an existing working relationship with both restaurant groups through the completion of multiple locations for each, including the recent build-out of the Esquire Champagne Room located on the top floor of the Gold Coast location. As such, ICI was retained by Cooper’s Hawk for the renovation of the location.

Due to the vertical configuration of the urban location, Cooper’s Hawk is adjusting their typical single-story format to meet the operational requirements of a multi-story layout. The restaurateur will be introducing their brand to the space by adding an expansive 75’ long tasting bar, decorative glass screen walls and various wine display millwork elements.  The space will also be built out with new wall and floor finishes, furniture and lighting.

ICI commenced demolition and is partnering with Cooper’s Hawk’s design team and architect to cost estimate various construction options. The build-out is being fast-tracked during design. Construction is planned to start this month with an expected completion in fall 2019.
